Paderborn, October 31, 2023 – Hartmann International, the full-service transport and logistics provider from Paderborn, has reached another milestone in its success story. Last Monday, the opening ceremony for the innovative, 20,000 square meter logistics property in Paderborn’s Mönkeloh industrial estate was celebrated. Around 75 additional jobs will be created at the new site.
ECOLOGICAL RESPONSIBILITY AND EFFICIENCY
The building has been designed with the future in mind and will be directly connected to the existing freight forwarding terminal via an underground tunnel. This smart and efficient infrastructure solution makes it possible to feed goods directly from the warehouse into the Europe-wide forwarding network without additional transportation routes. This means that even late incoming removal and transport orders can be processed on the same day. The sustainable character of the construction project is particularly noteworthy: it corresponds to efficiency house level 40 and thus consumes only 40% of the primary energy of a reference building. Overall responsibility for the construction work lies with the Bielefeld-based company Goldbeck. Using state-of-the-art measurement technology, automated processes and the latest construction standards, Hartmann is creating storage areas that already meet future requirements for the highest safety standards in the storage of batteries and other energy storage systems.
GROWTH IN RESPONSE TO MARKET REQUIREMENTS
The investment in the new multi-user complex is the logical consequence of the continued growth of Hartmann International’s logistics division. Due to the increased demand for warehouse space and logistics services, the company has already put an additional 55,000 square meters of logistics space into operation at five different locations in recent years.
GLOBAL NETWORKING FOR MAXIMUM CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Hartmann International customers receive a comprehensive service consisting of transparent warehousing and worldwide distribution. The integration of air, sea and rail freight, customs clearance, warehousing with value-added services and Europe-wide distribution offers a complete logistics solution from a single source.
STRATEGIC LOCATION AS A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
“Paderborn’s geographical location in the heart of Germany with direct access to the highway network offers enormous locational advantages,” says Andreas Hartmann. “The good connections to the ports in Hamburg and Rotterdam as well as to Paderborn and Frankfurt airports and the freight station in Duisburg are ideal for our internationally oriented logistics.”
EXCELLENT DIGITALIZATION
The digitalization of the underlying processes is a focus topic for the company. Last year, Hartmann International received the VerkehrsRundschau Award for an AI-based local transport planning system. The use of fully automated thermography drones is currently being tested in the new logistics warehouse.
